Millie’s House Nursery & Pre-School at Parsons Green opened in 2013 and is located on the New Kings Road in the heart of Parsons Green. Our 74-place nursery welcomes children from three months to five years old.

The nursery is set in a unique historic building, dating back to 1902, which once housed a ballroom and snooker hall. This characterful space has been thoughtfully converted to provide an inspiring environment for children and retains its strong links to the local community. Inside, there are four classrooms, individually designed for each age group.

Our ethos centres on a reactionary practice, which means we respond to the individual child, following their natural curiosity and building on their unique interests. Our curriculum focuses on the seven areas of learning as outlined by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We deliver this through a cross-curricular approach, ensuring that children experience a wide range of learning opportunities that connect across different areas of development.

At the heart of Parsons Green nursery is our dedicated, long-serving team. Many of our staff have been with us for years, helping us to shape the community we have today. Among them is Ms. Pat, our much-loved Nursery Chef, who has been part of the Millie’s family for over 15 years.

Our management team

Susan Barbara, Nursery Manager

Susan leads the Millie’s House team at Parsons Green. With decades of experience in the Early Years sector, it is her passion to work with young children. She loves every day at Millie’s interacting with the amazing characters – both staff and little ones alike. A lifelong learner, Susan is fascinated by what drives children’s behaviour and how best to nurture their development. She holds a Master’s-level (Level 7) academic qualification but continues to expand her knowledge, always thinking creatively and “outside the box” to inspire her team and the children in her care.

Jamie Leong, Deputy Nursery Manager

Jamie has over five years of hands-on experience in early years education and brings leadership, passion and a child-centred approach to her role as Deputy manager. She plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the nursery while ensuring the highest standards of care and learning are maintained. Jamie is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. She works closely with staff, children, and families to build strong relationships and support each child’s individual needs, while also encouraging staff development and professional growth across the team.
